Occasionally, patients in the hospital have a need for a longer acute care stay due to their illness, multiple injuries, trauma, or medical complications. The unique medical needs of these types of patients require more intensive, focused hospital care for optimal recovery. Select Specialty Hospitals are designed specifically to meet the needs of these types of extended acute care patients.

Select Specialty Hospital of Fort Wayne provides comprehensive pulmonary management for patients requiring diverse medical and respiratory care, with a focus on restoring normal airway/pulmonary functioning.

In addition Select Specialty Hospital of Fort Wayne also provides aggressive wound management for patients with impaired tissue integrity who are at risk for complications, with the primary focus of enhancing wound healing through a multidisciplinary approach to care.

Each patient is also assigned a case manager who will guide their case from admission through discharge. The case manager is available to answer questions, assist with insurance and to plan a safe, timely and appropriate discharge. Select Specialty Hospitals are Medicare certified and accredited by the Joint Commission. We participate with most major health insurers.

We are located on the 7th & 8th floor(s) of St. Joseph Hospital, which allows us seamless transition of patients.

Our Admissions Coordinator will process your referrals to Select Specialty Hospital - Fort Wayne quickly and efficiently.
